WELCOME!
Supporting Parents and Families
Birth is a life changing event, and having calm, steady support can help you feel strong and confident as you welcome your little one. As your doula, you can count on me to make sure you and your partner feel supported and cared for throughout the entire process.
ABOUT ME
I live in Northwest Arkansas with my husband and our three children, ages 5, 3, and 6 months. I’m an outgoing introvert who loves good conversations but hates small talk. I sometimes make awkward jokes when I’m uncomfortable. (I think I’m hilarious, but not everyone in my household always agrees.) I’m always seeking to put others at ease. I drink my coffee ridiculously sweet. I listen to lots of podcasts and audiobooks. McDonald’s curbside pickup is one of my favorite coping mechanisms on days when parenting is hard. (Curbside so I can order extra caramel on my frappe without sounding high-maintenance in the drive-through. 😂)
My appreciation for doulas began in 2017 with the birth of my first child. My doula stayed by my side during a long and difficult labor. As I reflected on the experience later, I realized that her presence, for me, had helped turn a potentially traumatic experience into an empowering one.
I took my doula training with DONA in early 2020 after realizing that I, too, have the passion and heart that it takes to support others in birth. I decided to certify with ProDoula in 2021, and received my certification in November of 2021. As a certified doula, I offer personalized birthing support. My goal is to give you and your family the attention and knowledge you need to make informed decisions about your pregnancy and labor process, and walk alongside you as you face your birth with confidence and power.
MY SERVICES
What I Do
All pregnancies are different, and that’s why I work with each client to develop a customized plan for pregnancy, birth and postpartum. And since birth plans are subject to change with the unique circumstances of each birth, my goal is to help you understand your options so you can feel confident in whatever decision you make, even if it’s something you weren’t anticipating for your birth. I offer hands-on support and comfort measures during both medicated and unmedicated labors. I am not there to take the place of your partner or other support person(s) — rather, I look for ways to help them become an active part of the process. You, as my client, will always be my primary focus during labor, but I want to help your partner feel supported as well. If you’d like to learn more about me and find out if I’d be a good fit for you, call, text, or email me to schedule an initial consultation. I’d love to chat with you.
BIRTH SUPPORT
I offer a free in-person consultation to prospective clients. My birth fee is $800, and it includes a prenatal visit, labor support, and a postpartum visit. •The purpose of the prenatal visit is to get to know you and discuss your plans and wishes for birth. •I will be on call from week 38 of your pregnancy until you go into labor. I’ll meet you to provide in-person labor support when you think the time is right. (The details are discussed in my contract.) •I will stop in to see you several days after the birth to see how you’re doing. This is a good chance to discuss your feelings about the birth and talk about how your recovery and adjustments are going. I’ll do my best to provide resource recommendations, if needed, that can help your family thrive.
Euni was the backup doula for the one I initally hired, and I am so incredibly grateful. Euni spent the first 7-8 hours of my labor in the hospital with me. We had no prior communication between the two of us, yet she was instantly able to jump in and offer support in the ways I had discussed with the doula I hired, but most importantly in the way that I needed. She did a lot of counter pressure and taught my partner how to do it as well. So she was able to guide him and offer him support in being a phenomenal, involved parent during my labor as well. She was attentive in noticing minimal signals from me when contractions would start and I needed support. She worked really well with the hospital staff and my doctor in coordinating my care and support. When we made a plan on how to endure certain moments, she was able to retain specific pillow configurations so I did not have to expend energy explaining what I needed each time.
On top of all the physical support, her presence was so reassuring and positive energy to be around. Truthfully most of our interaction during labor was as needed for physical support, but that was per my birth plan, and allowed me to focus on my body and listening to what it needed. I have no doubts that she is fully capable of fascilitating different commuication and support styles/needs other than the ones I experienced.
She came to visit once within our first week home and I was delighted to confirm that she is an absolute pillar of serenity and comfort outside of labor as well!
My labor was 17 hours long in the hospital and ended in an inevitable c-section, but if it weren't for Euni's support through the worst of it all, I would be traumatized by my experience. Instead, I reflect with nothing but feelings of warmth and blessings and have only good memories. Navigating challenges are moments of strenth, not strife, in my birth story because of her. Thank you so much, Euni!
